Working in care: why join Flexecare

Care work is meaningful work, but the employer you choose decides whether it's also sustainable work. Here's what we've built at Flexecare, and why it matters.

The problem with care work isn't the work

Ask care staff why they leave the sector and the answers repeat: pay that doesn't respect the job, rotas that don't respect life, travel time nobody covers, training that never happens, and being left alone when something goes wrong at 9pm. The work itself, helping real people live real lives, is the part everyone loves. So we built Flexecare around protecting that part.

Fair pay, formally committed

Flexecare is a fair employer, an accredited commitment, not a slogan, and community care staff receive paid mileage between clients. We are also a Disability Confident Employer, because a fair workplace is fair to everyone. We believe something simple: when staff are paid fairly and treated with dignity, clients receive better, more consistent care. Fairness is literally one of our core values.

Training that costs you nothing

Every new starter gets a free, comprehensive paid induction, with no experience needed for HCA roles, and ongoing development towards certified care qualifications. Nurses get supervision and mentorship from dedicated clinical leads, with support for registration and specialist training. If you want to progress towards senior carer or specialist roles, the route is real and we'll walk it with you: our own Care Manager built her career through hands-on roles and NVQ progression, and expects to help you do the same.

You're never on your own

Community care can feel isolating with the wrong employer. At Flexecare, supervisors actually supervise, and our on-call team answers 5.00pm–8.30am plus weekends, so whatever happens on a visit, an experienced colleague is one phone call away. That safety net changes how the job feels.

Flexibility that works both ways

Full-time, part-time, bank, weekends-only, patterns that fit around study, family and life. We ask for reliability within the pattern you choose, and in return we build rotas you can actually live with.
